Mao Cha Tie Guan Yin, Bai Ban Cong Village, AA, 2025
A lightly fermented Southern Fujian oolong tea produced from Mao Cha. A distinctive feature of this tea is that it does not undergo the final stem removal process. This preserves more of the essential oils, which impart a grassy, green, unprocessed aroma to the tea. A wonderful example of a fresh, unprocessed tea. Relaxing, stress-relieving, and calming.
A lightly fermented Southern Fujian oolong tea produced from Mao Cha (raw tea) in Bai Ban Cong village, Anxi County. A distinctive feature of this tea is that it does not undergo the final stem removal process. This preserves more of the essential oils, which impart a grassy, green, unprocessed aroma to the tea.
The leaves are rough, medium-sized, loosely rolled, with numerous large stems. The aroma of the dry tea is delicate and subtle, with notes of mown grass.
The infusion is clear, light green, clean, with a grassy, slightly mineral aroma. The flavor is buttery, soft, and slightly sweet, with floral, grassy, and woody notes. A rough, astringent texture develops with steeping. A long, drying finish follows.
A wonderful example of a fresh, unprocessed tea. Relaxing, stress-relieving, and calming.
