Aged Shu Pu Erh tea, produced in the 1990s and stored in a humid Hong Kong warehouse.
Appearance
Large, fleshy tea leaves with a small number of stalks are pressed into a medium-density brick. The dry tea has a calm, camphor-like aroma. After warming, characteristic aging notes emerge—menthol, root vegetables, and cellar notes.
Taste and aroma
To obtain a thick, voluminous, oily infusion, you'll need about 10 grams of tea per 120 ml gaiwan. The flavor lacks the usual chocolate, woodiness, and nuttiness—it's sweet and honeyed, with beetroot, camphor, and mushroom undertones. A very balanced, complete taste with a slight metallic aftertaste.
Effect
A powerful Shu Pu Erh tea, perfect for slow, meditative sipping. It warms you pleasantly, grounds you, and immerses you in itself.
