Shu Pu Erh Phoenix Gong Ting, Jinding factory, 2013.

The taste is mild and pleasant, without excessive astringency or bitterness, balanced. There is a perceptible sweetness of dates and vanilla, which, upon re-pouring, transitions into a slight bitterness of young walnut and clove with a woody note.

The tea Shu Pu Erh has undergone a strong fermentation process and contains a large amount of buds.

The tea is pressed moderately into the shape of flat plates, and consists of a fine raw material of dark brown color with lots of golden buds. The aroma of the dry leaf is neutral, with a faint pleasant moist aroma of nuts and camphor at the point of breakage. In a warmed vessel the aroma is enhanced, notes of dark chocolate and damp wood appear.

It brews quickly. The brew is dark, thick and oily. The taste is mild and pleasant, without excessive astringency or bitterness, balanced. There is a perceptible sweetness of dates and vanilla, which, when re-infused, transforms into a slight bitterness of young walnut and clove with a woody note. The aftertaste is sweet with a distinct taste of dried plums, slightly mineral.

Shu Pu Erh is an everyday tea. It gently tones, refreshes and invigorates.
