Shu Pu Erh Ruyi, Yunnan, A, 100 g., 2020

Fermented Shu Pu Erh from Yunnan Province, 2020 harvest, Grade A material. The name Ruyi translates as “fulfillment of wishes” or “harmony.” In Chinese culture, the Ruyi symbol represents prosperity and the smooth flow of events, and the character of this tea reflects that meaning: soft and well-balanced.

Appearance

A neatly compressed tea cake in a compact format with even fermentation. The leaves are medium grade and carefully compressed. The liquor is clear, amber-ruby in color with a warm copper sheen.

Taste and aroma

The tea is soft, rounded, and balanced. The aroma is warm and clean, with gentle sweetness. On the palate — woody notes, light nuttiness, hints of cocoa and dried fruits. The aftertaste is smooth, without sharp astringency, with a pleasant caramel background.

Effect

The tea is warming, focusing, and gently energizing. Suitable for daytime tea sessions, work, relaxed meetings. An excellent gift option: the Ruyi symbol was traditionally given as a wish for good fortune and prosperity.

How to brew

Brewing in a Gongfu teapot

• Water: 90-95°C
• Amount of tea: 6-8 g

Do not forget to rinse and awaken the tea with a technical pour.

First pour: 10 seconds

Subsequent pours: gradually increase the steeping time by 6+ seconds.

Brewing in a gaiwan or clay teapot

• Water: 90-95°C
• Amount of tea: 6 g per 100 ml

Place the tea in a well-warmed gaiwan or teapot and let it warm up for 10 seconds.

First infusion: 10 seconds

Subsequent infusions: gradually increase the steeping time by 6+ seconds
