Te Guan Yin Guo Xiang ("Iron Goddess of Mercy with a Fruity Scent"), АА, Fall 2023
Te Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is one of the most famous varieties of Chinese tea of our time. The homeland of Te Guan Yin is the south of Fujian Province, in Anxi County. Today, this oolong is famous for its light, juicy and refreshing taste (notes of lilac, an abundance of fresh herbs and meadow flowers) and a "positive", life-affirming tea state. Classic Chinese oolong leaves few people indifferent.
Guo Xiang translates as "fruity aroma" and is a variation of Te Guan Yin with allusions to fruit and tropical sweetness.
The dry leaf modestly shares the aroma of freshly cut, "dark" grass and meadow color. The leaf itself shimmers with dark emerald streams, alternating with lighter areas and scarlet spots. Along the edge of the leaf there is a red border, areas with a higher degree of fermentation, a characteristic feature of oolongs.
The taste is juicy and refreshing, full of discreet floral notes and subtle herbal acidity. From strait to strait it practically does not develop, preferring to bend the taste line of a newly blossoming spring meadow. The state is smooth and calm, with a slight brightening of the mood.
It is well suited as a balanced morning tea, in cases where you do not need extreme vigor, but only a light tone and balance.
