Palo Santo is the name of a tree that means "sacred tree" in Spanish. It is this species that was used for smoking - it contains guaiac oil, which is used in perfumery and cosmetology. The scent of the sticks is similar to that of cedar and incense. No additional fragrances are used in the sticks - it is wood with natural resins. It should be lit, wait about 15 seconds, and then blow it out - the stick will continue to smolder for a few more minutes. Palo Santo fills the room with fragrance, smoldering intensely, but quickly. The aroma of Palo Santo is calming and relaxing. The smoke also repels insects.

A medium-sized stick weighs 8–12 grams and lasts for about a month of daily use.
