Osmanthus flowers are tiny, highly fragrant blossoms known as "fragrant olives" native to Asia. They are prized for their intense, sweet, fruity scent (with notes of apricot, plum, and suede) and are used in tea, cooking, perfumery, and traditional medicine for their antioxidant and soothing properties.
The flowers are added to red or green tea for flavor, and are also used in jams, soups, and desserts. In Eastern medicine, decoctions are used as a cough remedy, to improve metabolism, and for detoxification.
