Red Georgian tea from Grandma Nargiza from Tsalenjikha, Samegrelo region.

Appearance

Medium-sized, slightly loosely twisted, dark burgundy leaves with a bluish tint.

Taste and aroma

The aroma of the dried leaves is warm and light, with notes of sweet pastries and raisins. The infusion is rich and golden. After the first brew, the aroma becomes more intense, with honeyed and fruity notes. The delicate flavor offers the subtle sweetness of ladyfingers and figs and the subtle tartness of tangerine and violet. The aftertaste is sweet and slightly harsh.

Effect

This tea is best steeped strongly. It is wonderfully warming and refreshing.

How to brew

Steaming

• Teaware: clay or ceramic teapot, gaiwan
• Water: 90-95°C
• Ratio of dry tea leaves: 6-7 g per 100 ml water

Brew in short infusions of 10-15 seconds, gradually increasing the time by 5-10 seconds.
The flavor remains consistent over 7-8 infusions.
