I thought it would be something powerful with character, like that tea from China. But it's kind of polite.

Smells good. Flowers, honey, a bit of nut. But where's the explosion? Where are the emotions? You drink it, and it doesn't yell, doesn't argue, just sits quietly in the cup. Taste is soft, almost too smooth. I held the cup to my nose three times, thinking, come on, come on, here it comes. It never did.

The tea leaves are twisted lengthwise into long, thin needles, dark burgundy, almost black, with a warm, slightly smoky, and slightly tart aroma.

The infusion has a rich, amber-red color with a smoky, spicy, autumnal aroma, with a hint of wild berry tartness. The flavor is smoky and slightly sweet, with notes of cocoa nibs and dark chocolate, and a slightly spicy finish. A pleasant, sweet aftertaste without harshness.
