Bei Dou, or Northern Carriage, is a cliff oolong from the Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve in northern Fujian Province. Bei Dou is both the name of the shrub whose leaves are used to make the tea and a revered symbol of the abode of spirits in China. The Northern Cart or Great Cart brings to mind the constellations in the night sky in its homeland, the cinnabar rocks described in legends and the jade waters of the Jiuquxi River.

Fresh aromas of berries and herbs, reminiscent of fried willow, several layers of caramel and apple jam, and tobacco and alcohol notes. The main melody is smooth and honeyed, but in the climax there are rich accents of bark and wine with a slightly tart aftertaste. A ceremonial oolong, not for every day - it warms the body and takes perception into new spaces. The tea gives a strong state and enjoys a sweet taste with a hint of coolness.
