Sheng Pu Erh from the Xiaguan factory, made according to a 1986 recipe. An aged tea with a rich flavor and aroma.

The tea leaves, with a small number of buds and stems, are pressed into a very dense cake: a tea knife or Pu Erh awl is required to break off the desired piece. The aroma of the dry tea is restrained, woody and floral.

The infusion is clear and bright, with the color changing from golden-honey to amber-chestnut shades as it steeps. The aroma of the finished tea is bright, intense, woody and fruity, with notes of honey and spices. The taste is rounded and complex, developing gradually: the first steeps are light, sweet, floral and berry-like, while by the middle of the drink, they reveal woody, spicy, honeyed, dried fruit, and herbal notes. The aftertaste is tart and sweet, with a subtle acidity of baked apples.

A deep, austere, clear, and very interesting tea. It energizes, focuses the mind, and relieves fatigue. Perfect for calm, slow tea sipping throughout the day.
