GABA Sheng Pu Erh, AAA, 2025

Sheng Pu Erh tea is made from the leaves of large trees growing freely on Mount Dalong in Yunnan Province. The trees grow for decades in ecologically pristine conditions, in natural soil, without fertilizers or pesticides. The leaves develop slowly and accumulate more essential and aromatic compounds. This gives the tea a particularly rich, deep, and nuanced flavor. Fermentation in an oxygen-free environment gives the tea a more rounded, full-bodied texture.

The infusion is clear, clean, and light yellow in color, with a sweet, floral, fruity aroma and smoky, woody notes. With subsequent steepings, the aroma becomes more restrained, woody and tart, with a slight bitterness of nutshell. The flavor also develops gradually, transitioning from crisp, fruity, honeyed notes to mature, smoky, tart, and moist ones.

This tea is for those who enjoy deep flavor journeys and immersion in the process. It lacks the playful energy of young shengs, and thanks to the gabian process, the tea relaxes, slows down, and removes fussiness.

This tea is perfect for meditation, solo tea drinking, or good, silent company. It's well-suited for steeming. It may taste bitter when infused.

How to brew

Steaming

• Teaware: porcelain or clay teapot / gaiwan
• Water: 85-90°C
• Ratio of dry tea leaves: 4-5 g. per 100 ml water

Brew in short infusions of 10-30 seconds, gradually increasing the time by 5-10 seconds.
