Wuyi oolong tea is made from tea trees over 60 years old. These trees have extensive root systems, which allow them to accumulate a large amount of minerals, and this undoubtedly affects the taste and aroma of the finished product.
The medium-sized leaves are twisted longitudinally with an intense, bready, spicy aroma. The infusion is clear, pure, and amber-colored. The aroma of the finished tea is warm and sweet, with notes of spices, wood, and flowers. The flavor is dense, silky, and slightly sweet, with a slight fruity acidity and minerality. The finish is juicy, slightly astringent, and lingering.
This tea warms well, refreshes the senses, and relieves fatigue. It is an excellent companion for slow, meditative tea parties.
