Bail (aka Matum) is the fruit of the Bengal quince, which is used to make a tea that is very effective against colds.
Its alternative name is "stone apple" because of its thick, dense skin, which can only be peeled with an axe or hammer.
Its slices are orange, shiny, as if glazed. Pour hot water over the spicy slices, producing a sweetish infusion with notes of fruit and spice.
On the outside it looks quite funny, among the segments you can see small seeds covered with fibers.
