Karkade is not a tea. Karkade is Sudanese rose petals, a type of hibiscus. Fruity aroma, sour, slightly tart taste and refreshing aftertaste. It resembles red currants.
The petals are harvested in spring and summer in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Yunnan and Sichuan provinces. It can be brewed as an infusion or by straining it in a glass or china. Use water at 80 degrees and wait from 30 seconds to several minutes. Carcadet also brews well in cold water, which is good for summer heat and lowers blood pressure. The vitamin infusion is also used to rinse hair and wash the face.
