Loose Shu Pu Erh from Yunnan province.
The leaves are medium-sized, reddish brown and have a woody aroma. The brew is brown in color with a pleasant nutty sweetness, cocoa bitterness and notes of dates. You can smell tree bark and rotten autumn leaves. The aftertaste is long, pleasant, sweet.
The flavor may not seem very rich, so it is better to brew the tea in a thermos or boil it over a fire. It gently tones and warms.
