Te Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is one of the most famous Chinese tea varieties of our time. The homeland of Te Guan Yin is the south of Fujian province, in Anxi County. Today, this oolong is famous for its light, juicy and refreshing flavor (notes of lilacs, abundance of fresh herbs and meadow flowers) and "positive", life affirming tea state. The classic Chinese oolong leaves few people indifferent.
Guo Xiang translates as "fruit aroma" and is a variety of Te Guan Yin with allusions to fruit and tropical sweetness.
The dry leaf modestly shares the aroma of freshly cut, "dark" grass and meadow color. The leaf itself shimmers with dark emerald streams, alternating with lighter areas and scarlet spots. Along the edge of the leaf is a red rim, areas of higher fermentation, a characteristic feature of oolongs.
The taste is juicy and refreshing, full of discreet floral notes and subtle herbal acidity. From strait to strait it hardly develops, preferring to bend the flavor line of a newly blooming spring meadow. The state is smooth and calm, with a slight brightening of mood.
It is well suited as a balanced morning tea, in cases where you don't need extreme vigor, but only a light tone and balance.
