Aged shoots of the Pu-erh tree from Yunnan province.

The debate around this tea continues unabated. What is white tea? Pu-erh? Or tea in general?

Ya Bao are the shoots of Pu-erh trees, beaten down by frost. The buds are harvested in early spring and dried in the sun without being crushed. According to production technology, this tea can be attributed to white tea, but the shoots are harvested from the Assam camellia, the same one from which the Pu-erh we know is harvested. Ya Bao occupies a special position between Pu-erh and white tea, having some properties of both.

The dry tea buds are large, fleshy, with a distinct smoky aroma. The infusion is clear, light yellow, champagne-colored. The taste is unique: vanilla and dried fruits are amazingly intertwined with the astringency of pine needles and smoked wood. A light, thin bitterness in the aftertaste reveals a long sweetness.

Perfectly refreshing, cooling, relaxing and warming. An exceptional tea for any occasion.
