Kudin is made not from the leaves of the tea tree, but from holly. Kudin Shui Xiu is distinguished by its fine raw material, only young shoots are used.
Kudin infusion from young shoots is olive-green in color, depending on saturation. It smells like holly bark. It doesn't need to steep for too long, the drink is already bitter. Gradually, however, it transforms into sweetness, which the Chinese call "gan."
