Red tea from the village of Bailin in Fujian province. White tea is also made from the same leaves, so Bailin Gongfu Hong has something in common with white tea and dried fruit tea. Assembled in April 2024, it consists of black, thin leaves and golden, hairy buds. Light amber color of the infusion.
The aroma is noticeable with plums, black bread and chocolate. The finished brew reveals notes of sugar and dried fruits. The flavor is succulent, sweet, honeyed. The texture of the tea is velvety, and the aftertaste is again plummy, sour and with a hint of bread crust.
We recommend brewing the tea in a porcelain gaiwan to bring out all its subtlety. Add 5 grams per 100 ml, water at 90 degrees, steeping time from 5 seconds with gradual increase to one minute.
It can be drunk at any time of the day or year. It warms and relaxes.
