Japanese green tea roasted over charcoal in a ceramic pot.

After harvesting, the tea is steamed and rolled, then roasted on ceramic trays without fermentation. Thanks to this production method, the tea acquires a specific brown color and aroma of roasted seeds.

In its dry form, the tea looks like small, thin, slightly flattened tubes of leaves and seedlings. The aroma is sweet, bread and spice, slightly smoky. The brew is clear, amber in color. The taste is mild, sweet, with hints of vanilla and roasted nuts. It's perfectly refreshing, thirst-quenching, and improves digestion.

With its low caffeine content, tokusen hojicha will be a good choice for afternoon or evening tea.
