Basic Taiwanese GABA oolong.
The aroma of the dry is sour and fresh, with delicate notes of spices. The infusion is wheat yellow in color, oily, with an aroma of birch sap, notes of clover and lilac blossoms, fruity tones of currant, pear and plum, and distinctive notes of baking. The tea is unsweet, delicate and well refreshing.
Like Te Guan Yin, this oolong is about spring. But if the classic Te Guan Yin hearkens back to May's blooming garden, the middle of spring, infused with the aroma of flowers and herbs, this GABA oolong is about the earliest weeks of March, the awakening of the earth from its winter slumber.
